Battlesteads Hotel & RestaurantThis month’s guest blogger draw is now closed.

We’re looking for a “Guest Blogger” and partner to stay for two nights at the multi-award winning Battlesteads Hotel and Restaurant. Your “job” is to review the hotel for Silver Travel Advisor, whilst enjoying its superb food, welcoming hospitality and outstanding ‘green’ credentials.

Originally built as a farmstead in 1747, the stone-built pub, hotel and restaurant features a cosy open fire, sunny walled beer garden and conservatory. A pet-friendly, family run hotel, Battlesteads has 17 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms and five sustainable, luxury eco-lodges. Collectively they offer three ground floor rooms with disabled access.

Fantastic menuFamed for its fantastic menu, Battlesteads features locally-sourced meat and fish, accompanied by seasonal vegetables, salads and herbs picked on the day from their two acre gardens.

Located on the edge of The Northumberland National Park – one of the most tranquil places in the UK – it is the perfect base to discover the rugged beauty of this remote part of the north east. With stunning walks, majestic wildlife and world class historical sites, such as nearby Hadrian’s Wall, this is the ideal ‘escape from it all’ short break location.

The Conservatory - Battlesteads Hotel & RestaurantFor those looking for more of an out-of-this-world experience, Battlesteads also features its own night-sky observatory – the only hotel in the UK to have an observatory situated on-site. Capitalising on the area’s Dark Sky Park status, a number of astronomy courses target all levels of stargazer, from introductory ‘Get to know your telescope’ sessions to focusing on identifying and tracking some of the night-sky’s star performers.

Our Guest Blogger and partner will enjoy: two nights bed and breakfast at Battlesteads Hotel and dinner on one of the evenings in the restaurant. Dinner will comprise the Battlesteads 8-course tasting menu featuring a selection of locally sourced and home grown dishes, desserts to die for and a cheeseboard of some of the best cheese that Northumberland has to offer.

You may have a particular affinity with the area, you may be accustomed to fine dining, or you may relish the challenge of a travel writing assignment, combined with a little star-gazing from the luxury of this wonderful hotel.
