Do you know a remarkable grandparent who deserves a special thank you? Now is your chance to nominate them for the Great British Grandparent 2026 and give them the recognition they deserve.
To mark National Grandparents’ Day on Sunday 4 October 2026, Ambassador Cruise Line is launching its fourth annual search for the Great British Grandparent – celebrating the grandparents and grandparent figures who give so much to their families and communities.
From school runs and sleepovers to being there when times are difficult, grandparents often play an invaluable role in family life. Perhaps they have devoted themselves to caring for their family, supported someone through a challenging time, given their time to their community or simply been the person everyone can rely on.
Ambassador wants to hear about the remarkable person in your life who deserves a special thank you.
🌟 How to nominate someone
You can nominate a grandparent – or someone who has taken on the role of one – by sharing their story with Ambassador. Written, audio and video entries are all welcome.
Entries open at 9am on Sunday 4 October 2026 and close at on Sunday 15 November 2026.
A panel of judges will select a shortlist of deserving grandparents from across the UK, with the Great British Grandparent 2026 announced just before Christmas.

The winner will receive a complimentary week-long cruise for two with Ambassador Cruise Line, including:
- Up to 7 nights
- Full-board accommodation
- An outside cabin
It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognise someone special and give them a well-deserved chance to relax and enjoy time away.
