Walking the Inca Trail and arriving at Machu Picchu at dawn – amazing!
The most unforgettable journey I’ve ever taken was a solo trek through the Himalayas. The breathtaking landscapes, the serene monasteries, and the sense of peace and accomplishment were unparalleled. 🏔️ The feeling of standing at high altitudes, surrounded by the world’s highest peaks, is something I’ll cherish forever.
As for what’s next on my travel list, I’m dreaming of exploring Machu Picchu in Peru. The rich history of the Incan civilization, the stunning views from the top, and the adventure of trekking the Inca Trail are all calling my name. 🏞️ It’s definitely a bucket list destination that I’m planning for!

I have always wanted to see the northern lights and also do a safari trip in the wild. I believe my next trip will be to see the Northern Lights. Here’s hoping they appear when I go.
My most unforgettable journey was my first one abroad in 1981 when I was only 21. I had fallen in love and went to visit him in Beirut. My first time on a plane was incredible but I got off and was entranced by the light, warmth, colour, smells and sound. I felt I had come from a dim grey country to one which resembled my favourite book Arabian Nights. Life was never the same again.
I would like to go on the train trip and visit the Top of Europe on the Jungfrau Railway.
Our most amazing journey was reaching our 50th wedding anniversary in good health at the time of the full blown covid epidemic. On the 5th December 2020, our grandaughter gifted us with a book she had created for us which recorded the journey our life together it was really beautiful
as far as train journeys go, I would love to travel on the Orient Express. But my absolute dream trip would be on a boat to Antarctica.
My most amazing journey was when I was in French Guyana. We went down the Amazon in small boats – having to keep getting out when we hit rapids – all our things, e.g. passports, clothes, etc. were contained in the plastic containers that the Chinese receive their chickens in. Having arrived at our destination, we were given hammocks to sleep in. Our food was whatever the guides who were with us managed to catch – e.g. fish, monkey, etc. I didn’t sleep all night because I could see the eyes of animals running beneath us and could hear the howling monkeys. Having said all that, it was a very exciting weekend.
Next on my travel list is the pacific coast highway between LA and San Francisco this summer. I can’t wait!
Israel so small yet full of history and things to do
Rest and Be Thankful – dramatic views and scenery
Several years ago we put the car on a train and slept the night away in our cabin, travelling from Calais to Toulouse. We then spent a week exploring the Cathar castles of the Pyrenees and another week driving back home visiting castles and cathedrals along the way. Also indulging in various gastronomic treats along the way of course. A truly splendid hollibob.
Hoping to visit Western Australia soon and taking a trip to Ningaloo Reef to see the whale sharks.
Iceland is next on my list and I can’t wait
Celebrating our Ruby Wedding sailing down The Mekong River
Mine was a three month solo trip backpacking around Australia, to mark my retirement from full time work. Travelled from Sydney to Perth with an old friend on the Indian Pacific..stopping off briefly in Adelaide. From Perth, flight to Tasmania…..including hike up Cradle Mountain with another old friend.. ferry to Melbourne…Met up with another old friend to drive the Great Ocean Road. Flight home with so many great memories
Must be more adventurous in my choice of holiday destinations. This should inspire me
A cruise up the entire coast of Norway in early summer was particularly memorable. Stunning scenery, glaciers up close and the midnight sun.

Our longest journey yet…UK to Hanoi, Halong Bay, then Ho Chi Minh City to take a cruise up the Mekong to Phnom Penh and onto Siem Reap. Then a flight to Bali for a few days before moving onto Brisbane and a cruise to Tasmania, before heading over to Auckland and a cruise around New Zealand before returning to Sydney and a flight to Fiji. Then onto Honolulu, for a cruise around the Hawaiin Islands before heading home via Los Angeles. Our next adventure is to South Dakota, Yellowstone, the National Parks of Utah and two cruises out of Los Angeles north and south California and Mexico.
Well, we may as well do it while we’re young enough and fit enough!
Cruising into Milford Sound , South Island , N.Z. The weather was windy , horizontal rain as well as vertical, and swirling mist. But the atmosphere was primeval and otherworldly , with thunderous , swollen waterfalls, verdant coverings of forest and gouged rocky precipices. A once in a lifetime experience.
Hoping to go to Australia later this year, and hike around Tasmania with indigenous guides

Most unforgettable? 1974… boarded a greyhound bus in Toronto (visiting my sister) and finished up at Anna Maria island in Florida (visited the cousin of the girl I was adventuring with) – travelled via New York, Washington, Orlando for Disney world and had a wonderful time. Three weeks of sunshine, scenery and Micky Mouse before we returned to Toronto and gazed over the city from the top of the CN tower.
A trip to Indonesia where we were incredibly lucky to see 23 Kimodo dragons together (normally solitary creatures) waiting for their next meal to die. Sad, but that’s nature….
My favourite trip was cycling around East Anglia many moons ago.
We did a Mediterranean cruise for my 50th and I’d love to do it all again. For the future, next year we’re planning to visit China, which will be a BIG first for me.

A trip to Scotland is top of my list, as it has been for years. I finally booked last year, and had to cancel. Starting with a visit to a friend near Edinburgh, using trains mainly, up the west coast, Oban and then Mull, Islay. Off up to Mallaig, and then Lewis, Harris and anywhere else I can get to.
One of the most unforgettable journey we have ever taken was a trip last year to discover the sites of Vietnam and Cambodia. In Vietnam an overnight boat trip around Hulong Bay and in Cambodia visiting Angkor Wat were one of the many highlights of the tour.

A COACH TOUR IN 1983 TO RUSSIA, VIA EAST GERMANY (AS IT WAS AT THE TIME) AND POLAND, WHEN ALL THOSE THREE COUNTRIES WERE BEHIND “THE IRON CURTAIN”…IT WAS VERY MUCH A MYSTERIOUS JOURNEY INTO THE UNKNOWN, AT THE HEIGHT OF “THE COLD WAR”.
We had the most beautiful Holiday to Croatia, we was at Porec staying on a little island just off Porec so to get there was a 3 minute Boat ride, the hotel then was nice a little basic but Porec was beautiful with a old Town it hd stunning old building Chapels and a centuries old Winery that did tasting.
The hotel had a man made beach but all around you could sit under the shade on the sea edge, where you can sit in a clear blue sea with little Fish swimming around you.
Porec also do the worlds best ice Cream it is worth going there just for that.
Drifting down The Nile passing stunning history
A cruise to Pitcairn Island with Aranui Cruises from Tahiti calling at the Gambier Islands and Mangareva.
Visiting the Galapagos Islands some 40 years ago. It was a military flight from Quito to the islands, and then an 8 birth small sailing vessel. The wildlife was spectacular, and included the things that you would expect to see, but also the Galapagos Penguins. Shear excitement / fear of swimming in the sea, and watching a fin above the water quickly coming to you, and then finding out it was a dolphin and not a shark.
Nearly 50 years ago I visted Los Angles and Las Vegas and had an amazing time. Would love to return with grandchildren and revisit Universal Studios and Disneyland.
My most breathtaking trip was cruising through the Alaskan inside passage. Absolutely stunning views and wildlife spotting. The thrill of being in a small boat next to whales was a fantastic experience and one I would love to do again.
My most unforgettable journey was exploring Costa Rice this April – birds, animals, scenery…..
Has to be Gran Canaria near Puerto Rico lovely place
I used to live in Scarborough many years ago so I really miss the lovely beaches there ,lovely golden sand, clear sea water.
In the late 90s I visited my sister in Buenos Aires and together we spent a few days at the Iguazu Falls on the border with Brazil. These waterfalls are the most awe-inspiring and spectacular in the world, and they go on for miles. We also crossed over to the Brazilian side where I was pursued by a coati which was trying to get at my ice cream. The little beastie nearly pulled down my shorts and scratched my leg pretty badly in the process, and my sister did nothing but howl with laughter. Great fun! We wrote a poem about it on the plane back to Argentina amid so much mirth and laughter, the cabin crew gave us stern and disapproving looks (they probably thought we’d had too much to drink, but we hadn’t touched a drop).
The ferry from east to west Istanbul – the lovely views of this divided city
It has to be the journey along the Antarctic peninsula, the scenery is too vast to describe , the abundance of wildlife is incredible and the sight of a whale breaching is a memory to be cherished
LOVE ANY HOLIDAY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, ALL FANTASTIC.

Travelling eight hours through the desert in Turkmenistan with outside temperatures of 40 degrees was unforgetable.
