Needed to spend a couple of nights near Canary Wharf so chose the Travelodge at London Docklands.

The website states an ideal stopover for a visit to the ExCel Exhibition Centre or London City Airport. I had previously had a coffee in the bar dining room and felt the lodge pleasant and relaxing so had no issues about booking especially as East India DLR station is just a couple of minutes walk.

Met at reception by very friendly staff who issued keys but here I met a problem. The keys would not work nor either the receptionist keys . The girl was full of apologies and we were upgraded to a SuperRoom for the inconvenience. The staff we met were outstanding and could not be faulted.

To be honest the so named SuperRoom did not appear much different, the biggest bonus for me being free kit-kat.

Did not have the chance for breakfast but managed a couple of beers and a pizza in the evening. The pizza was tasty and reasonably priced, the beers priced at what is expected in London.

The Travelodge served my purpose well. The bed was very comfortable and the location for the DLR ideal. Will have no problem selecting this lodge in the future.
