This is a fun and quirky museum in the centre of Revelstoke. This museum houses a collection of mechanical musical instruments in an old pool hall (complete with tin ceiling). The collection, originally private, was brought to Canada by its English owners a few years ago and one of them will show you around on an interesting tour which lasts about an hour – or longer if you talk.
The collection is made up of a wide range of types of mechanical instruments from 18thC barrel organs to mid 50s juke boxes via automatic pianos, roll-playing pipe organs, electric violin player, Swiss and German musical boxes, Belgian dance organ . . .. Sizes range from the portable to an organ that would need a large room to itself. Many of these are played during the visit and their history is explained.
This was interesting, fun and highly recommended.

We visited during a five week trip to Canada. I wrote a rip report which can be read here.
I have written a series of detailed reports for some of the places visited for Silver Travel.
