“The Life Buoy Cafe”:https://www.thelifebuoycafe.co.uk/ in Fowey is tucked away on one of the many little winding streets and is a little gem. We had a snack there recently and can definitely recommend it. It’s a small place with only a few tables but we were there after the lunch rush so had no trouble getting a table. We snagged the prime spot in the window which someone else had just vacated. For a while we were the only customers. A gentleman did come in later and ordered the full breakfast even though it was after the normal breakfast serving time, and the cook gladly made it for him because the café was so quiet.
The café is full of memorabilia from our youth, much of it nautical, and I do mean full. It’s all over the walls and tables. Even down to games to amuse yourself while you wait for your food which is freshly made and locally sourced. Napkins and condiments are in old Hovis baking tins.
For under £20 we had lattes and Americanos for four, three scones and a toasted tea cake. My orange and chocolate scone was delicious. Note: there are gluten free, vegetarian and vegan food options on the menu.
