On our arrival at the site, it was a wet evening on the banks of Loch Long however we were soon warmed by the greetings provided by the staff and we were promptly dispatched to out cabin with keys, map and a full explanation of the site and what is on offer. The cabin was a Silver birch, 3 Bedroom, 1 en-suite, family bathroom with bath, a large dining kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge and plenty of pots, pans and utensils. The lounge had plenty of seating and a large TV set into the kitchen partition which was multimedia, internet, films and information was accessed from here. The accommodation was immaculate and spotlessly clean, access was from your own parking bay up a ramp and inside, as the cabin was single storey it would be wheelchair friendly too. The heating was more than adequate, all under floor which was lovely, particularly in the bathrooms. Now for the best bit, outside the cabin is the wooden veranda, this has a wooden table and chairs and a metal BBQ rack, I would imagine summer is a dream just kicking back on here, down 3 steps from the veranda is the hot tub, constantly on and warm with mood lighting too, it was a pleasure just relaxing in here, even in the rain on occasion. There is a café on site which is reasonable and also the bakery deliveries, fresh in the morning, just order the previous day. There were several site run activities, forest walks and bike hire on site too for a reasonable fee and even a slipway if you fancied kayaking in the Loch. The beach here is stony and its around 3 miles to Arrochar along the road, a better route is the forest walk which avoids most of that but it takes a little longer. The downside? the floor had already started to lift in places despite being new, I can't see this looking immaculate for long, and, when it rained, the field got very wet so stay on the paths. The only real change I can see is that there should be higher screening around the hot tub area rather than wooden fencing, that would afford more privacy as people can and do walk past. It is really a beautiful location, lots of hills and mountains to hike, kayaking and cycling on the doorstep, we will be going again.
