Robinson Club Quinta Da Ria is a stunning holiday option in my view, it’s set in a nature reserve, on the Atlantic Ocean it has two (professional standard) golf courses joined onto it. We had a week long holiday at the start of Sept. 2017, we were on an all inclusive basis. Our room on the first floor (only ground or 1st floor on site), it had air con, a safe, a seprate toilet, a shower room with hairdrier, twin beds pushed together, and a large walk in wardrobe plus tea/coffee making and a fridge topped up with water bottles, we had a balcony with table and chairs and a drier rail, clean towels as you wanted them and bed made, room cleaned every day. The sun was hot every day up to around 30c, so we spent sometime every day in shady spots, under palm trees, around the pool areas on loungers on the grass areas surounding a golf course (that was not that busy, as too hot to play in the heat of the day) so very restful. Apart from that there was cycling, segways, swimming pools in and outdoor, gym, aqua-fit classes and the spa with treatments and lots more to keep you busy – if wanted. Then there was the walk down to the beach past olive trees etc. (or you could get a golf buggy ride down), to the beach bar, set nearly a mile away from it all with hammocks, loungers and soft seating with shade if needed, drinks on tap from the beach bar plus loos and showers behind it – then “The Beach”, well it was idilic we walked for miles after getting a boat ride across the inlet at high tide or paddled a little and walked across at low tide watching the wildlife as you walked in the nature reserve – there was nothing but sun, sea and sand with very few people, who were mostly walking or paddling along like us, the sea was warm and invited you into it for a swim, well paridise said it for me.
Then there was the 5* food, all you can want at every meal, plus healthy options always available, with a special area for this at each sitting, smoothies made in front of you and and a fresh orange juice machine being topped up all the time, plus a selection of othter fruit juices, fresh food being cooked for you, eggs, waffels, pancakes also full English if wanted, plus cold meats & cheeses with salad, speciality breads and toast, plus a mountain of fruit – and that was just at breakfast. Following that a short break to set up food for lunch, with hot and cold foods from pizza (freshly cooked) to roast meals and so much in between – it was so good and so much to choose from, all top notch, with more than enough people to serve (if/where needed) or to wipe up the smallest drop spilt, and so clean everywhere. there was an afternoon food session then evening dinner starting with pate, soups, fish or whatever you like, lots of choice of hot meals & veggie options or salads, no two meals were the same at the buffet restaurant, there were drinks stations hot and cold, Ice creams, bread sections, salads, cheese, cold meat and fish sections, different food options at every meal, we did not get board at all, theam nights with the staff dressed up too. We sat outside for all our meals, under semi shade, with waiters to serve coffee, water & wine and clear plates etc. all so very nice. The gardens all around the resort are beautifully kept and the flowers are so beautiful. There are pomegranate bushes & bouganvillea everywhere. All the entertainment staff, chefs and waiting staff are brilliant. There is a kids club, play area and pool with nightly songs at wind down time, so you could take your grandchildren but not too many children on the whole. Some shows are in German (as it’s a German company with some German staff) that draws in German holiday makers, but music in English most of the time and not too over the top. The bar staff I think are locals, all fabulous & making you feel so welcome and remember what you like to drink, nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff on site. There was free Wi-Fi over most of the site. Beach towels are provided as many as you like, you change them daily or get a card for your next use. There is lot’s of space all over the site and it did not feel cramped in any way at all.
I have no hesitation in recommending this resort, it is AMAZING for a lazy chill out holiday where you can do as much or as little of the sports on offer as you like, in a laid back kind of way.
