QUINTA DA CASA BRANCA is a lovely hotel. A member of the small luxury hotels of the world chain. Situated on the outskirts of FUNCHAL, MADEIRA a 20 minute brisk walk away. Set amidst spectacular lush and extensive private gardens. A lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of the island. Traffic noise can still be heard but the views from the hotel do take your mind off it. If you like glass then this hotel is for you. The communal rooms reception and bar sit on top of the flat roofed hotel with stunning garden views. Resembling the upper deck of a river cruise ship. Light and airy. Peaceful and beautifully decorated. A place to sit, read and talk. Enjoy afternoon tea here either on the end open terrace deck or inside this glass walled haven. The hotel has an award winning, expensive, restaurant for evening meals. We didn't try it but guests who did gave it a thumbs up. Breakfast is taken in the garden in a separate breakfast room overlooking the exquisite fresh water pool. The bufffet food was very good. The porridge amazing and freshly made to order. Bedrooms are large and spotlessly clean. All come with a terrace facing onto the gardens. BLISS. All the staff are good too- friendly efficient and they certainly know their jobs.
