We stayed in the Pestana Hotel and Spa just beside Chelsea Bridge while attending the National Book Awards recently. The room was large and comfortable with two beds each the size of a large double. The bathroom was much larger than we expected and we felt very spoilt when we seen both a shower and a good sized bath on seperate sides of the bathroom. The hotel was carpeted in deep pile so walking down the corridors was soundless and the staff were friendly and efficient. The basement contained a fully equiped gym and a reasonable sized swimming pool. We didn`t get time to use this but it was complimentary and looked inviting. Spa treatment were an additional cost. Breakfast was a buffet and the selection of hot and cold food was good. Location, we paid just £9 in a taxi to reach the event in knightbridge but if you were travelling by tube the neast tube was quite far away. Two sandwiches and two cups of coffee in the bar cost £28.00 so the hotel is expensive. We didn`t eat in the resturant but the menu did look exciting. I Would stay there again it was a very nice hotel.
