I had wanted to try India as a destination for a while and although we normally travel on small group holidays we thought we would try a private tour as it was very similar on prices and potentially offered smaller hotels and more flexibility.
I contacted “FleeWinter”:http://www.fleewinter.com/ who are members of the AITO and specialists in Winter sun destinations. Jessie was a delight to work with and customised our trip to include a few lesser known places along with the key sights of Agra, Delhi and Jaipur.
Once we got through Delhi airport, which included a very long wait at the immigration desk we were met by the agent and our driver and taken to our hotel to freshen up. This was the pattern for the trip, our guides, drivers and the local agents were all superb and the hotels were in most part a refreshing change from the “standard” tourist hotels you often get on group trips. The last night was a “standard” airport hotel, but there were practical reasons for that.
All along the way we felt safe and secure, the drivers were considerate and careful, the guides knowledgeable and the agents who checked us in to each hotel were very good.
The Golden Triangle was everything I expected and more. I am happy to recommend both the destination and the travel company.
In fact I have booked a two week trip to Cambodia in October with them.
If you would like to see more images from my “book” of the trip. You can see them on my blog. The book really exists as I get them printed by Blurb. I am building up quite a collection as I do one for each holiday.
