Having been to Dubai on numerous occasions we decided to try something different this time, so we booked a long weekend in The Palace Hotel situated opposite the Burj Khalifa.

We booked a fountain view room, and were situated on the ground floor so we had direct access to the swimming pool, with impressive views of the Burj Khalifa too.

The hotel is 5* and has an almost serene feel to it given that it’s in one of the busiest spots in Dubai. We loved the proximity to all the restaurants in and around the area, as well as Dubai Mall being 5 minutes walk away.

Breakfast buffet choice is superb, and we had lunch in a pool cabana on a couple of occasions not overly expensive compared to other 5* hotels in Dubai. It seems the hotel is a popular business breakfast meeting spot during the week, and very quiet on the weekend.

The hotel recognised my wife’s birthday whilst we were there, very attentive service and would certainly recommend.
