This annual event takes place at Astle Park in Cheshire (SK11 9AD). It is a huge event with a variety of family favourites such as an old-time fun fair. There are marquees with stalls, trade stands, food and crafts. There are various displays such as the grand steam parade. Vintage vehicles were everywhere from classic motorcycles, tractors, commercial lorries and classic cars. There were steam engines of every kind from miniature to full size traction engines – all lovingly tended by enthusiasts.
Situated in parkland between Macclesfield and Knutsford, the whole show is great for a day out. I have one criticism though, there are not enough places to sit down ! If, like me, you get backache when walking around for several hours, I would suggest bringing your own shooting stick seat. If ever i go to such an event again – this is what I would buy first!
