The lights of Aylesbury Waterside Theatre from outside look like a large ship has docked in a harbour. That, of course, is the intended effect and this relatively new theatre is certainly impressive. We parked across the road from the theatre which cost £1 from 6pm to 12pm. Ideal timing for the theatre goers. There is also a multi-storey carpark which although, more expensive, would mean less queuing when leaving the theatre.
Inside the theatre has a large bar in the reception area and there are seats that you actually have a little room to move in. The wood pannelled walls and balconies continue the ship theme. We went to see `Jersey Songs` which was extremely good, everyone was enjoying themselves. The show was based on songs from The Four Seasons and Frankie Valley. Lots of amazing dancing from the actors and glittering costumes. The show last two hours with a short interval and prices are very reasonable. We paid just £15 each and were seated near the back of the stalls. Excellent seats as these seats are raised a bit higher than the front of the stalls. The whole theatre is roomy and pleasant and has a large selection of shows throughout the year. I will certainly be visiting again.
