Highland Hideaway Shepherd Hut in the Lake District

This well-equipped, romantic retreat with hot tub and fire pit sits in a tranquil valley in the Lake District, overlooked by Place Fell. Located just over a mile from Patterdale village with its selection of country pubs, The Highland Hideaway Shepherd Hut is a great base for visiting the Northern Lakes and Fells, with fabulous walks and cycle routes to explore from the door. Local walks include St Sunday Crag, Dove Crag, Brothers Water, Helvellyn, High Street and Lanty’s Tarn (all within 6 miles). Enjoy a trip on one of the steamers from Ullswater Lake which is less than 2 miles away or visit the beautiful Aira Force waterfalls 5 miles. Paddleboard or enjoy wild water swimming, pack a picnic for two, or for something a bit different, why not go alpaca walking?

This stunning shepherd’s hut offers a great open-plan space with a comfortable double bed, wall-mounted Smart TV, dining area and French doors looking out over the fells. A cute bijou kitchen area that is well equipped for rustling up a nice breakfast or romantic dinner for two with a Belfast sink, microwave, two-ring hob and fridge/freezer. There is a shower room and WC off the main living space. The design and layout of this shepherd’s hut has been lovingly thought out, with lots of lovely welcome gifts to enjoy on arrival.

Head outside, and you will find a private seating area at the front of the property with a hot tub overlooking the fells, which is just the place for reading a good book or enjoying dinner cooked on the BBQ. When the sky gets dark sit back and relax in front of the fire pit and star gaze.
