Young onset dementia affects affects approximately 70,800 adults under the age of 65. One of these is Dean who was diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s in 2019. As he became more forgetful and his behaviour became unpredictable at times, his care needs increased. His daughter Alison became his main carer and was faced with a daily juggling act of meeting the needs of her young family and her dad.
