Celebrating our Ruby Wedding sailing down The Mekong River
Mine was a three month solo trip backpacking around Australia, to mark my retirement from full time work. I flew in to Brisbane, where I acclimatised and caught up with a former colleague…moved on to Port Macquarie, where I met up with relatives who had moved to Australia on the £10 ticket…then to Sydney: sightseeing, Opera House etc….followed by a few days hiking in the Blue Mountains. Travelled from Sydney to Perth with an old friend on the Indian Pacific..stopping off briefly in Adelaide. From Perth, flight to Tasmania…..including hike up Cradle Mountain with another old friend.. ferry to Melbourne…Met up with another old friend to drive the Great Ocean Road. Flight home with so many great memories

I absolutely adored my trip to Cairo and a 7-night Nile Cruise. The ancient sights were absolutely spectacular, and seeing them from the comfort of a river cruise ship was ideal.

Rocky mountaineer is on my bucket list.
Our longest journey yet…UK to Hanoi, Halong Bay, then Ho Chi Minh City to take a cruise up the Mekong to Phnom Penh and onto Siem Reap. Then a flight to Bali for a few days before moving onto Brisbane and a cruise to Tasmania, before heading over to Auckland and a cruise around New Zealand before returning to Sydney and a flight to Fiji. Then onto Honolulu, for a cruise around the Hawaiin Islands before heading home via Los Angeles. Our next adventure is to South Dakota, Yellowstone, the National Parks of Utah and two cruises out of Los Angeles north and south California and Mexico.
Well, we may as well do it while we’re young enough and fit enough!
Hoping to go to Australia later this year, and hike around Tasmania with indigenous guides

Three weeks of sunshine, scenery and Micky Mouse before we returned to Toronto and gazed over the city from the top of the CN tower.
