Cruise guest Betty Wright, celebrated her 100th birthday aboard Fred.Olsen Cruise Line‘s Bolette with four generations of her family.
Joining Betty were 13 of her closest relatives, taking the age range of their party from one-hundred to just five years old.
The crew arranged a surprise upgrade to one of the ship’s Premier Suites, filling her cabin with balloons. She was also treated to a private tour of the Bridge to meet the Captain, presented with cards with messages from all of the crew and had a champagne breakfast and dinner party on her big day.
A 100-themed birthday cake was freshly baked by the galley team and was given the seal of approval by Betty, who spent her life working as a baker and achieved a City and Guild’s certificate for her expert cakes and breads.
When asked about her cruise, Betty said: “This cruise and everyone of Fred. Olsen’s crew and staff have been amazing. It really has been an “out of this world” experience for me. I have most of my family around me and for me to share this with them has been incredible. I have been overwhelmed by the love and respect I have felt from every member of staff. It’s a memory I will take with me for rest of my life.”
