Win rail tickets and hotel costs courtesy of My InrerRail If you have a family member who served in the armed forces in Europe, My InterRail and Silver Travel Advisor are offering you the opportunity to research their story and head off by train to visit towns or cities and former battlefields that were significant in their lives. 2018 is the centenary of the end of the Great War, so what better way to honour and remember your forebear than tracing their footsteps?

Our lucky winner will win 2 x First Class Global InterRail Passes, £1,000 spending money for costs such as accommodation, 3 months membership to www.ancestry.co.uk so you can discover more of your family history and the opportunity to share their experience with thousands of others. As you travel, you will write a blog to be published on My InterRail website and an article from the blog will be published in The Silver Traveller, Silver Travel Advisor’s magazine.

How to enter

Visit www.myinterrail.co.uk/competition

Fill in the form on the website.

Include a minimum of 250 words explaining who your relative was, what you know about their experience, where they served, which war they served in and why you’d like to find out more about their story.


Competition closes at midnight on 23 May 2018. Terms and conditions apply.

All family stories that are entered will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the Rail Delivery Group and Silver Travel Advisor. The winner will be announced on 28 May 2018 at www.myinterrail.co.uk/competition.
