This month’s prize is a unique treat for two people, it’s all about the wonders of winter right up in the Arctic, where it’s polar bear and arctic fox country. And the Northern Lights are a regular feature in the night sky, which appear on ‘bucket lists’ time and again! This is your chance to have that dream come true.
The archipelago of Svalbard, part of Norway, has but one inhabited island, Spitsbergen. Our winner and partner, will be flying up to Longyearbyen, the island’s largest community, for 4 nights (choosing from a selection of departure dates between October 2016 and January 2017 subject to availability), staying in an authentic hotel, converted from miners’ lodgings, based close to mountains and glaciers with breakfast included. There are so many winter activities to enjoy: dog-sledding, snow mobile safari, ice caving, snowcat exploration and culinary tours. These are adventures only available to those staying in the town.
Hurtigruten, the Norwegian cruising specialists, have created these fabulous land-based breaks – prefect for those who prefer not to cruise. The flights, part of your prize, are from London Heathrow via Oslo, and will whisk you to a seriously different, magical world.
