Applications for a guest blogger are now closed.

Cakes & AleThis month Cakes and Ale Holiday Park are offering a stay for 5 people (children welcome) in one of their rental lodges for a short break (Friday – Monday or Monday – Friday) outside of peak season, which is July and August plus Bank Holiday weekends.

Aldeburgh Yacht ClubCakes & Ale is a little different from the ‘norm’. Peace and tranquillity are the main focus, allowing for a relaxing break that leaves you feeling refreshed and reenergised, rather than frustrated that the children in the tent next door are still screaming at midnight! Whilst families are allowed on the touring field, there’s a strict ‘Quiet after 9 pm’ rule that is observed by everyone, as well as an ‘Adults Only’ area for that extra bit of peace and quiet.

Set in over 40 acres of pristine grounds, it is the ideal base from which to explore the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast. Southwold, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness are all within easy reach, each with its own offerings. Southwold Pier has a stunning sea view restaurant, the town is full of characterful buildings and boutique shops. Aldeburgh is known locally for the fresh fish that is caught and brought into small wooden huts on the beach front where it can be purchased by the local restaurants and the general public, it can’t get much fresher than that! Thorpeness is well known as a purpose-built Holiday Village, with a Peter Pan themed meare to row around, the famous ‘House in the Clouds’ and some exceptional food in a number of locations.

The rental lodges and touring field are open April – October. The lodges have been recently renovated, making them pet friendly, with their own private garden area. The Minsmere Lodge sleeps up to 5 people, whilst the Blyth Lodge sleeps up to 4. Both are fully furnished, with well-equipped kitchens and a large wooden deck.
