In today’s frenzied moments there is a popular thought that size really matters. Maybe in certain aspects of life. But in the world of coach holidays small group tours are becoming more and more popular and easily the best way to discover the countryside.
Driving made easy
Why focus on driving for hour after hour unable to enjoy the scenery and endure the erratic behaviour of other road users when you can sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s less stressful, it’s safe and in these air -conditioned mini-buses it is the only way to travel. No need to worry about where to park. Is there a chance of a fine? Have we read the traffic signs correctly or more importantly can we read these signs at all in a foreign country?
Your luggage taken care of
No need to worry about your luggage too. Escorted tours take all the hassle out of a holiday and more often than note this includes porterage of bags. Travel in style and arrive totally refreshed.
Personal Experience
Small group tours offer a more personalised travel experience. From the moment the coach stops it is so easy to explore. So much easier getting on and off a smaller coach than a larger one. No waiting for dawdlers and the other 40 plus travellers. Alight in a jiffy. With smaller groups its easier and quicker to check into hotels. Usually a better class, smaller more intimate hotel is on offer too.
Flexible and friendly
On a small group tour, it’s a compromise between independent travel and a larger perhaps inconvenient tour. It is much easier to chat and get to know fellow passengers, swap travel anecdotes and share fun times together. On our last small tour, travel tales and tips were exchanged amidst much laughter. And that is what travel is all about. You can learn so much by talking (didn’t BT say it’s good to talk?) much more than you can from any number of books. Easier too, and this is important for many, to remember the names of a smaller group.
Accommodation taken care of
No need to spend hours searching for the best locations and accommodations on offer to you, nor where to stopover. You’ll get to experience many attractions and stay in comfortable, well located accommodation which can include smaller boutique properties or luxurious independent hotels without a worry in mind.
Avoid large coach travel
And of course, mini-buses are small enough to go down tracks larger coaches cannot go down. So much nicer and easier to see much more of the countryside- off grid, off the beaten track, down lanes you would probably never dare take your own car. It’s a chance to discover out of the way places not normally visited by tourists. Sustainable tourism at its best. Drivers and tour guides have excellent local knowledge.
Make friends for life
And finally, arrive on a small coach tour as a group of strangers. But you always leave and return home with many new found friends. Coach holidays are fantastic social occasions. And smaller groups are usually likeminded travellers all searching for that extra special moment. Coaches bring the world to you! Uncover glorious sights and iconic landmarks as you sit and natter.
