Legado Mitico, Buenos Aires, Argentina – Luxury Hotel Review

What is Chrissy’s Collection?

With her lengthy travel background, Chrissy has years of experience assessing accommodation with quality and customer satisfaction firmly in mind. She was also a hands-on Director of an upmarket Kensington apartment-hotel for five years.

As our own Silver Travel Advisor we are delighted that Chrissy brings her experience and eye for stylish detail when she reviews Boutique and Country house hotels. Chrissy’s Collection are her personal recommendations of hotels with something extra that makes them stand out from the rest: discreet and exceptional levels of personal service; stylish, contemporary and comfortable interiors where relaxation is key; smaller, quirky or character properties; luxury hotels with super spa facilities, exquisite dining or amazing locations.  In short, very special places.

Legado MiticoAs it is usually my preference to stay in small, individual, hotels with character, Legado Mitico was the perfect choice for our four night stay in Buenos Aires. A unique boutique hotel with 11 rooms set on a quiet cobbled street in the bohemian, vibrant, district of Palermo Soho. The location is excellent. Great restaurants, pavement cafes, trendy shops are moments away and it is only about a 15/20 minute taxi ride into the centre of the city. Also close by is Recoleta with its amazing Cemetery, galleries, museums, parks and upmarket shops.

Legado MiticoThe hotel is very stylish and comfortable. It feels very authentic and sophisticated without being pretentious. The bedrooms are all a good size with a seating area and are individually styled. There is a small roof-top sunbathing deck with a hot-tub and a wonderfully relaxing lounge and terrace on the ground floor. There is no restaurant for meals as such, so basically it’s a very upmarket B&B, though there is a limited room service available on request and drinks and snacks are served in the lounge. Breakfast is buffet style with fresh fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, meats and a wide selection of pastries and Argentinian desserts and the best freshly squeezed orange juice I have ever tasted.

The service was friendly and laid back, though occasionally a little haphazard. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay in Buenos Aires and would definitely return.
