Reasons for trip

A fantastic inn to visit that is built into a hillside at the base of an old castle in Nottingham.

Located in the central township of Nottingham you also can see statues of Robin Hood as you walk down the hill from the castle to the inn.

As easy stroll down on well made and paved walkways from viewing the historic castle.
On entering the inn you can enjoy a good counter lunch and sit in the ground floor area in the inn which has a great atmosphere and you can imagine the knights being in there as they went off to the cruisades.

It is accessable to all ages and physical abilities.

Those with a bit more physical ability can explore the small upper floors via the small stair ways which are very small in size highlighting that back in the 1500/1600’s the people of the day were small in statute.

This is stated to be the oldest inn in England and this is certainly believable after visiting it.

We all loved the experience and should be a must see for all people on holidays BUT especially aussies who love these old pub experiences.
