Wick Court is a Jacobean manor house in Keynesham near Bath. It was the summer house of Queen Elizabeth I and King Henry VII. It has been wonderfully restored and decorated to a 4 star standard in keeping wtih it’s historical period. Each of the rooms is divinely inspired.
Des and Candace and their wonderful children were very welcoming and even offered transport to and from the train station in Keynesham.
Wick Court is set in it’s own Victorian Gardens which are truly delightful and peaceful. Enjoy lunch or afternoon tea while sitting out in the sun or take a stroll down to the stream that creates a natural boundary.
Candace who caters all the meals was very kind to provide a vegetarian option with little notice. Her culinary skills are influenced by her S. African background but she also offers truly inspired British favorites on the menu.
I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to enjoy their time in Bath as well as take in a bit of local history and escape the city for a quiet retreat in the country.
