I just finished a great holiday in Cornwall, staying at the White Acres site owned and managed by Parkdean. We were staying in a lodge right in front of one of the fishing lakes (this site has 13 fishing lakes but the wonderfully landscaped grounds and the interesting nature trails and walks mean that the area can be enjoyed by non-fishing visitors too) and so had a wonderful view of the ducks and geese as well as the dedicated fishers. The well designed grounds meant that there is a lot of greenery around every lodge and caravan, and only a short walk to a car park. There are several play areas as well as art installations and flower beds.
Around the reception area is a small supermarket, a coffee shop, a restaurant, a bar and area for entertainment, a swimming pool, jaccuzi and sauna another play area and the start of the nature trail. The reception area was a great place to find out about bus times and places to visit and shop, and the friendly and helpful staff could not do enough for us. In fact, all the staff in every area were really great and all seemed to be really happy to be working at the site, and only to pleased to do anything required or asked of them to make every visitors stay as enjoyable as possible.
We travelled down by train, but as there was a bus to Newquay (15 minutes) and another to St Austell every hour from right outside the park gates this was no problem at all. In fact on one day we got a connection and went on to Padstow so that we could hire bikes and take a spin down the Camel trail as well as wander around the very pretty village and sample some fantastic ice cream!
