Do not mistake this for the Welsh Highland Railway. £7.50 per adult, unlimited travel all day (see below), free parking and reasonable access for limited mobility. The station is a smart setup with tea shop and shop/ ticket office. The actual rail trip took just over 3 minutes to the end of the line at pen-y-mount less than a mile away. On the way back there is a 25 minute stop at Gelert farm and the small museum there which is ok, there is also a small miniature railway. The carriages were 2 wooden seated coaches, no wheelchair access and no facilities onboard, not that this is a problem as you are not on long enough. There are good facillities at Gelert and Porthmadog. It would appear there is confusion between this railway and the one that runs to Caernarfon which is the Welsh Highland Railway, the signs were not clear and it left us disappointed. We had a 5 year old with us (£3.50) and there was just enough to keep her interested for a hour.
