The Walker Art Gallery is located a stones throw from Lime street Station in the centre of Liverpool. The gallery is open from 10-5. The building façade is very impressive. Access is via steps to the foyer, once in entrance is free, however, donations are hoped for which is understandable as there must be high running costs. There are pre bookable parking spots to the rear for the disabled if you contact the gallery, there is level access and a lift. There are a number of sections to wander around with a number of well known artists work on display. The place isn't crowded and it is peaceful inside with a good mixture of different styles and artists, including fabrics and a small ceramics section. There is a small café in the centre which was average but we were there for the art, its a gem. There is currently a John Moores prize exhibition on and parent/ child activities.
