Having read a “review”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review/attraction/169911-review-tullie-house-garden of this, I added the gardens to my list of things to do on a day trip to Carlisle.

I’m so glad I found them as they really are delightful and a wonderful place to drop out away from the hustle and bustle of the main street.

They are well sited between the castle and the cathedral and entry is free. I just walked in through the archway and explored. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to visit the museum or the cafe. Another time…
