Eight of us braved Ryanair's reputation to travel to Brindisi in Puglia, Italy. We had hired a people carrier and our intention was to use the villa as a base and visit places of importance in the area. We did this and overall much enjoyed our trip. But a warning. We were first there this season. The Trullo and Lamia are no doubt a delight in the heat of summer, but on the 10th May, although the beds had been freshly made on the morning of our arrival, everything was damp. No, not damp, wet. And very musty smelling. Because we were going out each day, we had to lock up, so the rooms had no chance to air properly. The English owners were visiting after us, and no doubt benefited by our being there first.
