Chose this for an overnight stay prior to a morning ferry trip. Paid £45 each for the 2 rooms, so quite cheap but not the £19 so widely advertised. Overall the rooms were pretty clean but not spotless. They were also in need of some basic repair but everything worked enough for a brief overnight stay. The bed was way to soft (probably worn out) but the bedding looked pretty new & was spotless. Unfortunately the double glazing was useless & its on a very noisy road, so overnight you are treated to a lot of street noise. Also the police station is close, so sirens throughout the night. Previous reviews had warned about this, so went armed with earplugs. Bit annoyed the next morning to be told there were quieter rooms & we just had to ask if we stayed here again. Location is great for the Ferry Port, but the area is rough. Having said that there is a very cute cafe just round the corner run by a french lady, an oasis amongst the £1 shops. The food in the attached pub is OK, probably similar but not as good as Weatherspoons, but good enough if you can't be bothered to find something better. If you could get a room for about £30 then its probably work staying here for the proximity to the ferry port, but if I've got to pay more, I'd rather stay at a Premier Inn a little further away.
