I booked two family rooms a few months ago for November 4th at Farrington Travelodge near Kings Cross in London. I booked the rooms on a Sunday night for £29 per room. Each room had three single beds meaning we were paying £10 per person which is an excellent bargain. If you have never stayed in a Travelodge they are great for a one or two night stay. The hotel offered a bar that was open until 1 am. Food could be ordered at any time and buffet breakfast cost £7.50 which is good value for London. The hotel was difficult to find as there are two different Travelodges in the same area both giving Kings Cross Station as the nearest station. We went into the wrong hotel firstly and I could imagine trying to unlock your door in the wrong hotel after returning from a boozie night out. The Kings Cross area of London is not a wonderful area but it is now full of tourist hotels and not as seedy as you might think. You can reach most of the main London attactions with a short tube ride. We couldn`t to stay in London if we didn`t book Travelodge rooms way in advance when they are on offer. I would recommend them having now stayed in Covent Garden, Waterloo and Farrington. I am a real frugal trourist when I visit London and this time we went to Harrods (free) Natural History Museum (free) and a Ghost Walk (£9 pp) which was excellent. Seen the Christmas lights switched on from a distance on big screens (free) and the guys amused themselves with the toys in Hamleys again free. We ate in Bella Italia with Tesco vouchers and enjoyed every minute of the trip.
