Some English tourists suggested that we visited the Tour de Montparnasse rather than the Eiffel Tower. So we travelled by Metro to Montparnasse Bienvenue adjacent to the tower. It has two advantages over the Eiffel Tower:
1. Unlike the Eiffel there are no long queues to go to the top of the Montparnasse Tower
2. The view of Paris from the top is not spoilt by the modern tower’s unattractive architecture!
The views from the top are excellent and well worth the visit.
