My wife and I travelled to Tiffin in Clevedon from Devon to meet friends from Worcester for lunch. We had discovered, thanks to the ‘Meetways’ website, that Clevedon is just about equidistant from all our homes and has several eating places to offer, as well as nice walks along the seafront.
Parking near to the Tiffin restaurant was however a nightmare. There are free parking spaces all along the seafront outside this restaurant, but it was a Saturday, a fine day and exceptionally busy. Three times round the block and waiting in the middle of the road eventually got us a space, but one of our friends had to park several streets away.
The restaurant itself is reasonably small and we were glad we had booked in advance as it became very busy. This could account for the slow service, which got slower as our lunch progressed. The menu was quite limited in comparison with larger establishments, but we found the food tasty and reasonably priced. Had we known it was going to be such a beautiful sunny day, we would have booked to sit outside on the front terrace which has wonderful views across the sea to Wales in the distance.
The big advantage of Clevedon is that, having had lunch, you can go for a very nice walk/stroll along the seafront and on to the pier if you wish. This was delightful on such a fine day, and the real plus of meeting there. Although we enjoyed our lunch in Tiffin, there are other restaurants which we will probably try out next time.
