After a day sightseeing in Bath, a few hours in the Bath Thermae Spa is just what is needed. The complex is the modern equivalent of the Roman Baths and you do not book unless you want one of their special packages. There is a wellness suite with a steam room, sauna, ice room, experience showers and relaxation room with heated beds. The inside spa pool has a lazy river and a jacuzzi and the magnificent rooftop spa pool is open air and had great views of the city. We started in the rooftop pool to see the sunset and stayed until it was dark . We then explored the wellness suite before heading down to the inside spa pool. Finally we spent another half an hour enjoying the rooftop pool and watching the stars. The aches and pains from walking around the historic city earlier in the day just washed away and we finished the day refreshed and relaxed.
