Reasons for trip

Travelling and eating out is not easy in a time of Covid. I was on a house hunting trip, on my own, staying overnight in St. Austell but where to eat with no inside eating? I thought fish and chips sitting in the car on the sea front and headed down to Charleston only to discover I could not park facing the sea and that there was no fish shop.

I walked down searching for food and found The Wine Store with outdoor heated seating with views of the harbour. Perfect, well it would have been if it had not been so cold. Luckily I found a table under the heater and put my order in, muscles in a delicious creamy sauce, and a glass of red wine. Just too cold for white!

Although the service was slow and I waited for some time the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. I was soon chatting to people on the two nearest tables to me, all braving the weather and enjoying the food, wine and cocktails.

An enjoyable evening, delicious food, good wine.
