We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, not that we were demanding, but I had just suffered a bereaveavement and was in need of quiet and rest and the Landlord and team were very understanding. We settled into a very comfortable twin room en-suite with ample tea/coffee facilities. We had excellent cooked breakfasts and ate dinner each evening as the standard was so good. This allowed us to explore the beautiful countryside and go walking and fishing without having to worry about finding somewhere to eat.The setting of the pub is ideal for exploring the Quantocks, Exmoor and the beautiful Brendon Hills and I would recommend this venue for all, but the stairs to rooms are quite steep so may be prohibitive for some. At the end of this very welcome and restorative break, the bill came as a complete surprise as it was SO reasonable!
