Strangely, having lived in Worcester for over 20 years, my wife and I now seem to be making more visits to The Swan than ever before!
The reason is that we find it a very convenient place to stop and meet friends from Worcester as we make our frequent trips from home (now in Devon) to Manchester. The Swan is situated right by junction 7 of the M5, and is approximately half way and a great point to break our journeys.
It’s basically one of those pubs which has developed as a restaurant and, although we sometimes see people who’ve just called in for a drink, the majority are there to eat. And the food is very good! There is an extensive menu including roast lunches on Sundays, and we have never been disappointed with our choices. The prices are probably a bit higher than you can find elsewhere, but the quality is very good and, as ever in this world, you get what you pay for!
If you are ever travelling the M5, therefore, and are ready for a break and food near Worcester, I can thoroughly recommend The Swan – and no, I’m not on commission!
