Family run railway carriage accomodation at St Germans by Cornish main line. I stayed in the recently updated Old Luggage Van – now with double bed, wood burning stove and armchairs. Perfect for two adults. Very comfortable and highly recommended. The family owners live in the old station house and provide a friendly service. Looking at the visitors book, I see many guests have stayed several times before – including myself. Perfect for rail fans, but because of its location in south east Cornwall you can easily v isit anywhere in the south west. You don't need a car. Also available is the Travelling Post Office offering slightly larger accomodation. The family also have two carriages near St Ives in Cornwall. They are restoring more carriages for the St Germans site, at least one of which is designed for diabled guests. Everything is provided, and short stays are available. Normally bookings are weekly. Apart from the comfort, I find the friendly family take a personal interest in your stay, and will always help with any problem.
