Reasons for trip

The Little Bird is a lovely new café that has opened up in Wortley Village, London. It is on the main street and I had brunch there recently and will definitely be back. It is only open for breakfast and lunch (7:00 am to 2:00 pm every day) and has an interesting “menu”:https://s3-media4.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/AGFEihyRPU34yZaWFBdOIA/o.jpg.

My friend tried the avocado toast: poached eggs on avocado on rye toast. The eggs were surrounded by alfalfa sprouts so they looked like they were in nests. She had some smoked bacon on the side. I had the classic breakfast: two soft poached eggs with peameal bacon and hashbrowned potatoes and chose the fruit rather than the toast option. Everything was delicious.

It is a small place with a few tables on the street level and more upstairs. There is artificial turf on the floor downstairs (in summer it serves as a patio) and upstairs there is a sit up bar overlooking the street and a number of tables. It is in an old yellow brick building and the décor is bright and eclectic. I love the tin ceiling.

Service was very prompt and friendly. There is no website but they do have a presence on Facebook. Parking is free and is on the street in the neighbourhood.
