The Jetty has one of the finest views in the country overlooking the well known Salcombe estuary and its golden beaches. Modern & fun it suits young or old. Good service & comfort.
We struck lucky with a special winter offer in Devon Life. Available until 12th February. Wine & Dine for £29 for two people with two glasses of wine. Unbelievable value for such a setting. I had Potted shrimps with celery & cucumber followed by Salcombe Harbour Fish Pie with crunchy winter vegetables. My partner also had the Potted Shrimps followed by Smoked Haddock, poached hen's egg, crushed new potatoes & mustard buerre blanc. He said that it was the best poached smoked haddock he had had in a while. We couldn't resist the Salted honeycomb ice-cream with spiced poached pears (as an extra addition) . One warning, the wine list is pretty expensive. £6 for a 125ml glass of prosecco is only the start. Parking in season could be a problem. But it is worth it for the position & views.
We had a walk along the beautiful coast path from Sharpitor gardens (where there is a famous Magnolia). Rough seas crashing on the Bar below, a fresh wind and a few brave comorants diving for fish ended the day on a high for us.
