Prime position on Brighton seafront. Very close to the famous Lanes and other shops/stores. The casino can be walked to. The only eyesore being the burnt out pier that hasn't been removed! The IRA bombing of this wonderful hotel was in 1984 and try as we may we could not see the renovation joins! The foyer is a magnificent tribute to Victorian architecture. Truly Grand in all its splendour. Their afternoon high teas are a legend and to die for. The lounge is elegant with olde world charm. The staff are extremely attentive, polite, plentiful, knowledgeable and made you feel special. We had dinner in their main restaurant and sat in the Conservatory overlooking the sea, the food and service were second to none – we expected nouveau cuisine and were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast is a huge buffet with certain egg dishes freshly cooked to order. We had a double deluxe sea view room with balcony. It was HUGE. It was spotless BUT a little tired looking. A very nice 'feel good factor' hotel. Charm, politeness and comfort – wonderful!
