This pub/restaurant is situated just outside of the town centre in Kendal, at the junction of the busy Shap and Appleby Roads. My wife and I were staying overnight at the nearby Ash Meadows guest house and, if you read my review of that, you will understand why we needed a drink! It’s the nearest eating place to that accommodation, although there is a wider choice of other venues in the town centre.
It’s a nice pub – good choice of beer (I tried the Hobgblin!) – and a menu with all the meals you’d normally expect. We both enjoyed our food – after a trying hour or two – and were happy to be able to sit outside in the sunshine without too much cigarette smoke spoiling it!
