Reasons for trip

As we are in sunny Malta for my birthday this year, thought we would go to our local restaurant, The Cellar, in Aberaeron with friends. It is always a great atmosphere and staff are excellent, as is the food. So, what could we have that was different from our usual garlic mushrooms as a starter? OK, so 3 of us still went with this favourite but Lisa chose the King Prawns for a change. Very nice.

The food always looks fantastic and tonight was no exception – duck breast, pork fillet and lamb rump were presented beautifully, and the San Antonio Pinot Grigio was an ideal accompaniment. We are not always a 3-course bunch, but we did make a sacrifice as it was to celebrate my birthday. As you can see from the photographs, the “deconstructed” lemon meringue was a good choice and being a regular customer, they went beyond the norm and produced a brilliant surprise for the birthday girl!

The Cellar is a great choice for visitors and locals alike, with the typical 3-course meal around £32 each. Easy to access, and very popular so worth booking ahead if you can.
