South East of Birmingham and near to Solihull is the lovely 300 years old pub The Bell in the heart of the village of Tanworth in Arden by The Green and the 14th century St Mary Magdalene Church. We dined recently on a very warm evening and already there were quite a few imbibers enjoying their drinks on the Green’s seats. Inside the decor is modern and stylish with a few dining areas and a cozy bar. The drinks/food menus offer traditional with some innovative touches. This popular pub is most welcoming and in no time our drinks and meal were served by friendly staff. Can recommend the shredded duck with a warm holisin salad. Our mains of lamb cutlets and a Morrocan chicken dish were also delicious. So many tempting meals to choose from and they also have a special menus deal offer.
This is an historic area to explore with quite a few attractions nearby for all the family. .
Between 1970-88 the TV series of Crossroads was filmed here. There is plenty of parking nearby with a reasonably sized car park to the rear of the premises. B&B accommodation is also available. Highly recommend and it’s advisable to book.
