I visited this monastery on a visit to Thailand as it has been a lifetime’s quest for me to get up close to a tiger. I was not disappointed. Not only did I get to have a huge tiger rest his head on my knee, but I also got to play with tiger cubs in their enclosure. My proudest scar is when a tiny tiger cub bit my leg. Ys it was a small bight, but it did draw blood and I don’t know many people who can ‘boast’ of having a genuine tiger bite. I know that since then the monastery has got a lot of bad press for they say that it was drugging the tigers, but for me, It was a totally otherworld experience and I will always remember it vividly and with gratefulness. It gave a physically disabled woman much pleasure.
