Reasons for trip

My wife and I met some friends here for lunch on a Saturday. We booked for 12.45 but were told to arrive early, as it was going to be very busy. On arrival, the place was almost empty!

We hadn’t been to a TGI’s for a few years, having visited when the chain was relatively new and something of a novelty. I had fond memories of a steak with Jack Daniels sauce! However, the novelty seems to have well and truly worn off. We were disappointed with the service, especially as we had wanted to order from their “2 courses for £15.99” menu, but were informed that it was only available Monday-Thursday, which was not clear from the menu card. We were more than disappointed with the meals we eventually ordered. The two ladies had a sea bass steak which was overdone and dry. They said afterwards that they ought to have sent it back. My burger was OK, but for what it was, overpriced.

I enjoyed my dessert, full of ice cream, marshmallows, shortcake pieces, chocolate chips etc. but this didn’t make up for the poor main courses. Needless to say, we won’t be in a hurry to go again.
