My husband and I recently moved to Tavistock and thought we’d celebrate by having dinner out. Tavistock is a lovely country market town with a few restaurants but we didn’t know anything about them. We decided to go to Taylor’s which is down a little side street in the town centre. When we arrived the front of house staff took our coats (rare these days) and led us upstairs. There are candle lit tables with a pretty rustic type decor. There’s a very relaxed enjoyable atmosphere but within it you can see the staff taking great care of their customers – I was really impressed by how friendly and professional they were. My starter was a scotch egg, a little different but absolutely delicious. For main we had beef which had been slow roasted and was melt in the mouth and dessert was chocolate taste. It was divine but quite big and I couldn’t eat it all. Our bill only came to just under £80 which I think is brilliant for such lovely food and service. Highly recommend going but don’t eat all day beforehand.
