Reasons for trip

I checked out London’s second annual “Taco Fest”:https://www.facebook.com/events/360249121349846/ last month with my sister and her family. It was held in the parking lot to the south of Budweiser Gardens, and yes, there was plenty of beer on hand as well as margaritas and other libations. Along with various food vendors selling an assortment of tacos, there were also a couple of sweets vendors to cool off if your tacos were a bit on the warm side: fresh juice ice lollies and frozen cheesecake on a stick. There was also entertainment: music from a number of different bands and DJs and Mexican wrestling where the wrestlers are dressed in colourful costumes including masks.

It was a windy Saturday afternoon – some of the vendors had difficulty keeping their awnings from flying away. Luckily the forecasted rain held off while we were there and there were a couple of rest areas with picnic tables under awnings so you could escape the sun or rain. The food was reasonably priced at usually $6 for two or three tacos and there was a good choice for meat lovers and not.

The event was held from 1:00 pm to 11:30 pm. It cost $10 to enter the grounds ($2.50 from each ticket was donated to a local Mental Health charity) and if you bought your tickets online ahead of time you got a free drinks ticket – good thing as the administration fees for the convenience of getting your ticket online came to $4! It was good enough I think we’d check it out again next year.
