We chose this hotel by location and price when we needed to stay overnight in Bristol and what a good choice we made!
It was easy to get there by bus from the station. The driver was very helpful and we got off in the city centre. From there it was a short walk to the hotel. We were quite early and intended to just ask to drop off our bags, but were told our room was ready, so were able to check in.
It was very comfortable with everything that you would expect in a modern hotel, including a large TV and wi-fi. The bedroom and ensuite were spotless and we had a lovely range of toiletries too.
The tea and coffee station (hidden in a cupboard, but on a tray so easy to get out) included a great selection of herbal teas and shortbread biscuits, as well as the usual tea and coffee.
The staff on reception were so helpful and provided us with a map so that we could visit the art gallery, marking the bus route for us. We also took advantage of the complimentary fruit juice and water available in the foyer.
We were eating out for breakfast the next day so didn’t eat at the hotel, but the restaurant looked lovely. We were able to leave our bags in the luggage store and collect them later.
The location of the hotel is great as it’s just a short walk from some of Bristol’s attractions such as the Arnolfini Gallery, MShed Museum and the SS Great Britain. There are lots of restaurants nearby and a short walk in the other direction takes you into the city too. if travelling by car, there is a multi-storey car park next door and I think there is a special rate for hotel guests, but drivers should note that this month (November 2022) a clean air zone is being introduced in the city, so charges may apply.
We really enjoyed our stay and next time I’m in Bristol I’ll definitely stay at the Bristol Hotel again.
